Portugal Golden Visa Program is a five-year residence by investment program for non-EU nationals. The residence permit gives the right to live, work, and study in Portugal and allows free circulation in Europe’s Schengen Area. the program only requires an average of seven days per year stay in Portugal over this period, which can also count towards citizenship eligibility after five years.


QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR RESIDENCY :

Aimed at attracting foreign direct investments to the country, the program yields a residency permit in Portugal to non-EU investors who fulfill one of the investment options below and meet the following requirements:

  • Provide proof that investment funds originate from abroad.
  • Hold no criminal record.

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

Option 2: Donation

  • EUR 500,000 – Investment in research activities of public or private entities that are part of the national scientific and technological system
  •  EUR 400,000 in a low population density area*•
  • EUR 250,000 -Investment in arts or in the recovery or maintenance of national cultural heritage
  • EUR 200,000 in a low population density area*

Option 1: Capital Transfer

€500,000 for Acquisition of shares in investment funds or venture capital funds (non-real estate entities) with a maturity of at least five years incorporated under the Portuguese law,

Option 3: Capital and Employment Option

  • • €500,000 – Incorporation of a company in Portugal that creates 5 permanent jobs, or investment in an existing company with the creation of 5 permanent jobs or maintenance of at least 10 jobs.

ROUTE TO PORTUGAL CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship of Portugal can be obtained if the below conditions are met:

  • Hold Investment for 5 years
  • Residency Requirement: 7 days every year or 14 days every 2 year
  • Language Requirement: Applicants will need pass Portuguese language test at A2 level
